From, at, or until a given time. For example, As of five o'clock the store will be closed for inventory, or As of last December our meetings have been open to the public, or As of now I'm not sure how I'll vote. This idiom was first used in business but came into more general use. [c. 1900]


I saw the idiom "as of" for many times. In most of the chances, I saw it from the accounting textbook. As I thought before, phrases and idioms, which are made of words, are very powerful although they are very short in length. Compaing with sentences, these phrases and idioms are more active and more lively. I can feel the power of language through them.
